CHELTENHAM JAZZ FESTIVAL LINE UP ANNOUNCED


This year's CHELTENHAM JAZZ FESTIVAL, which runs from Tuesday 28th April until Monday 4th May, features a veritable cornucopia of performers from the world of jazz and beyond - ranging from virtuoso violinist NIGEL KENNEDY (who performs with his jazz quintet on Monday 4th May) and veteran South African fluegel horn maestro HUGH MASEKELA (Friday 1st May) to Bohemian jazz chanteuse MADELEINE PEYROUX (Saturday 2nd May). Other acts featured include jazz-meets-rockabilly singer IMELDA MAY (Wednesday 29th April), ex-Miles Davis drummer JACK DEJOHNETTE (who performs with Jerwood Artists on Sunday 3rd May), saxophonist DAVE LIEBMAN (who performs with the BBC Big Band on Saturday May 2nd), US clarinet doyen DON BYRON (Sunday 3rd May) and Big Apple trumpeter DAVE DOUGLAS (Sunday 3rd May) as well as the highly touted UK-based contemporary groups, GET THE BLESSING ((Friday 1st May) and PORTICO QUINTET.
